Post Modified Date: 26/10/2024 by Wayan Suadnyana Category: Beaches, Destinations, Hidden Gems

As one of the popular holiday destinations in Indonesia, Bali’s island is synonymous with beach attractions, mainly white sand beaches. Many famous beaches in Bali get a lot of tourist visits. Such as Kuta beach, Pandawa Beach, Melasti Beach Ungasan and many others. The high interest of tourists visiting beach attractions in Bali makes most of the beach attractions in Bali always busy with tourist visits. The question now is, does the island of Bali have hidden beaches?

Indonesian language, Pantai Tersembunyi Di Bali.

Currently very difficult to look for hidden white sand beaches in Bali, and the beaches are not famous. With the advancement of social media now, almost all beaches with hidden locations in Bali have been exposed on social media.

So that on this page, I will write a vacation guide to some hidden beaches in Bali that are less well known to tourists. Also, all white sand beaches listed on this page are rarely included in the Bali holiday itinerary.

The Early Story of Writing Bali Hidden Beaches

Furthermore, the initial story of writing hidden beaches in Bali on this page started when one of our customers who bought a watersport package in Bali asked about the name and location of the remote beach in Bali.

In conversation, our customers refer to Padang-Padang beach, Dreamland beach, and Balangan beach as hidden beaches in Bali. Because I feel that Padang-Padang beach, Dreamland Beach, and Balangan beach are not hidden beaches in Bali, I asked again. Where did you get the information about the hidden beach in Bali?

The customer mentioned getting sources about hidden beaches in Bali from several websites that wrote about vacation guides to hidden beaches in Bali.

For your information, Padang- Pandang Beach, Dreamland Beach, and Balangan Beach are located far from Ngurah Rai Airport. But the beach’s location now is not hidden, and almost every day, the three white sand beaches mentioned above are always crowded with tourists visiting.

To get accurate information about hidden beaches in Bali, I will write down some hidden beaches in Bali. Of course, all the beaches I have written about are white sand in Bali with beautiful views.

List of Hidden Beaches in Bali

There are advantages if you vacation to a hidden beach in Bali. There are fewer visitors, and the beach atmosphere is still natural. If there are advantages, then there must be drawbacks.

The disadvantages of visiting a hidden beach in Bali are road access is not adequate. There are no food stalls. Even if there are food stalls, the food stall is still traditional.

Furthermore, the tourist areas of southern Bali, the Nusa Penida island, Nusa Lembongan island, and the eastern Bali area still offer a few hidden beaches. Also, many Bali secret beaches provide a lack adequate road access.

Most of the hidden beaches in Bali the location are under cliffs. If you have ever vacationed on Pandawa beach in Bali, this is the view of the most secret beaches in Bali.

Before there was road access and construction on Pandawa Beach, Pandawa beach was also one of the hidden beaches in Bali. But at that time, I knew the name of the Pandawa beach by Kutuh beach.

1. Green Bowl Beach – Hidden Beach in Ungasan Bali

Green Bowl Beach Ungasan Bali

Furthermore, this beach is named the Green Bowl Beach because the coral with green moss will look like a bowl at low tide near the shoreline. The name Green Bowl beach seems to have been given by international travelers who usually like to surf on the Green Bowl beach.

I know the Green Bowl beach better with the name Bali Cliff beach. Because above the Green Bowl beach, there used to be a Bali Cliff hotel built for a long time on top of the beach cliff.

Green Bowl Beach is very close to Pandawa beach and Melasti beach Ungasan. On the west side of the Green Bowl beach, there is Melasti beach Ungasan. While on the east side of Green Bowl beach, there is Pandawa beach Kutuh.

Location of Green Bowl Beach Under the Cliff & 325 Stairs

Green Bowl Beach is in the Ungasan village area, South Kuta District, Badung Regency. If you are examining a beach in Bali hidden behind a cliff, Green Bowl Beach is one of them.

The thing that makes Green Bowl beach not get many tourist visits is that Green Bowl beach location is under a cliff. So to reach the Green Bowl beach, visitors have to go down the stairs about 324-326 steps.

The exact number of steps I don’t know for sure. My estimate is around 324-326 steps made of concrete. So the stairs are very safe to pass.

The large number of stairs that must be descended to reach the shoreline of the Green Bowl makes many visitors hesitate to visit the Green Bowl beach.

Attractiveness

Green Bowl beach sand is very similar to Melasti beach Ungasan, not too fine and not too rough, with blue sea waters with green gradations.

The waves on the beach are not too big, but the further you are to the shoreline, the bigger the waves. So if you want to swim, you should swim near the shoreline. In addition, there is a cave in the cliff area of ??the Green Bowl beach.

2. Tegal Wangi Beach Jimbaran Bali

Furthermore, Tegal Wangi Beach Jimbaran is one of the favorite beaches for professional photographers to conduct pre-wedding photo sessions. In addition, professional photographers chose Tegal Wangi Beach to do a photoshoot because there are fewer visitors. Hence, less distraction during the photoshoot.

Location of Tegal Wangi Beach Jimbaran

Tegal Wangi Beach’s location is in the Jimbaran Bali area and is different from the Jimbaran beach. In addition, the Tegal Wangi beach location is very close to the Ayana Jimbaran Resort.

Tegal Wangi Beach is one of the beaches in Bali which is hidden behind a cliff. Therefore, to set foot on the shoreline of Tegal Wangi Jimbaran, visitors must descend the limestone cliffs in the form of a fairly steep path. Still, the coastline location is not far from the top cliff location.

In addition, there are no stalls or places to eat around the Tegal Wangi beach area. So you have to bring your food and drinks if you plan to visit Tegal Wangi Beach, Jimbaran.

Beach Attraction

When you arrive at the location of the Tegal Wangi beach in Jimbaran, you will find a white sand beach with a reasonably smooth beach texture.

In addition, the coastline of Tegal Wangi Beach faces the west side, so that from the beach, travelers will be able to catch the sunset view in the afternoon. Behind the Tegal Wangi coastline, you will see high coral cliffs.

High Wall Enclosed Access

There is a parapet leading to the cliff area adjacent to the entrance to the Tegal Wangi beach. In addition, there is an entrance gate in the parapet area that is permanently closed. Therefore, at this time, it is impossible to access the Tegal Wangi beachfront area.

In the past, even though there was a high wall, the entrance gate was not closed and locked, so it was still possible to reach the Tegal Wangi Beach, Jimbaran.

For now, I don’t know how to access Tegal Wangi beach. If you comprehend how to access the Tegal Wangi Jimbaran beach without passing through a high wall area, please share in the comments column.

3. Karma Beach Ungasan Bali

Karma Beach Ungasan Bali Attraction

Furthermore, Karma beach is a white sand beach in Bali hidden behind a high cliff. It is called the Karma beach because access to this beach you have to pass through the Karma Kandara Ungasan Bali hotel. Inside the Karma Kandara hotel, there is an elevator to go down a very steep cliff so you can set foot on the Karma Beach.

Karma Beach Entrance Fee

Because for beach access using facilities from the Karma Kandara Ungasan hotel, an access fee of IDR 450,000 / person will be charged, including F&B Vouchers for IDR 250,000. Wow, so expensive! This must be in your mind while reading.

With an entrance fee of IDR 450,000 / person, you will get an F&B voucher worth IDR 250,000, which you can exchange at one of the restaurants on Karma Beach.

Karma Beach also has another name; the name is Sundays Beach. Then why is the name different even though the beach is the same?

Apart from the Karma Kandara Ungasan hotel, you can also access the beach from The Unggasan Clifftop Resort. Therefore the beach is also called Sundays Beach because there is a beach club called Sundays Beach club. The Unggasan Clifftop Resort owns Sundays Beach club.

Karma Beach Attraction

In my personal opinion, Karma Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen in Bali. The seawater is navy blue with waves that are not too big; besides, the beach sand is immaculate because it is cared for by the hotel. If you have ever seen a view of the Mediterranean sea, this is what Karma Beach Bali looks like.

At Karma Beach Bali, you will rarely see local tourists. Most visitors of Karma Beach Bali are hotel guests staying at Karma Kandara hotel and hotel guests staying at The Ungasan Clifftop Resort.

The lack of visitors because the access to the beach is closed. Also, there is a need to pay for access to the beach if you don’t stay at the hotel.

4. Nyang Nyang Beach Uluwatu Bali

Next is Nyang Nyang beach Uluwatu, one of southern Bali’s secret white-sand beaches. Uluwatu’s Nyang Nyang Beach is fabulous, and the beach sand is very gentle.

Nyang-Nyang beach is one of the beaches in Bali which is hidden behind a cliff. So, in the past, to reach the shore of Nyang Nyang, you needed extra effort because you had to go down the ridge through the hill.

Location of Nyang-Nyang Beach

Nyang-Nyang beach location is in the Pecatu area, about 2 kilometers from the Uluwatu temple Bali. Currently, finding the place of Nyang-Nyang beach is very easy. You only need to use a Google Map. In the past, I had to ask a local friend from the Uluwatu area to take me to the Nyang-Nyang beach location.

A concrete road has been built from the clifftop to the vehicle parking area adjacent to the shoreline of Nyang-Nyang Uluwatu.

Nyang-Nyang Beach Attractions

Nyang Uluwatu Beach has white sand with slightly coarse sand grains, the slope of the beach is also gentle, and the seawater is blue.

When I visited Nyang Nyang beach, I didn’t see many visitors, only Australian tourists who liked to surf. What I saw a lot were monkeys in the trees. The Uluwatu forest area is indeed a habitat for wild monkeys.

5. Bingin Beach Pecatu Bali

Furthermore, Bingin beach is not a hidden beach among Australian tourists who like surfing. But for domestic tourists, the beach is categorized as a remote beach in Bali.

Location Bingin Beach

Bingin beach location is in the tourist area of ??Pecatu Bali. Furthermore, the site of Bingin beach is adjacent to Dreamland beach and Padang-Padang beach. On the north side of Bingin beach is Dreamland beach, while on the south side of Bingin Beach is Padang-Padang beach.

There is a reasonably large vehicle parking area, which is off the main road. From the vehicle parking area to reach Bingin beach, visitors have to walk about 5 minutes and walk down many winding stairs.

Bingin Beach Attraction

Australian tourists love Bingin Beach because the waves on the middle side of Bingin beach are indeed one of the best in Bali for surfing. To swim in the Bingin Beach area, you have to swim near the shoreline. Meanwhile, if you want to swim to the middle, you must be proficient in swimming because the waves at Bingin beach on the inside are pretty strong.

Bingin coastline, facing the west side, so that visitors will be able to see the sunset view in the afternoon. Bingin Beach has white sand whose grains are pretty rough but still comfortable to step on. In addition, there are many cafes and restaurants in the area near the beach.

Best time to visit, 16:00 - 18:00.
Suitable For, Photo, Budget, Couple.
Location Map, Bingin Beach Bali Google Map.

6. Gunung Payung Beach Kutuh

Furthermore, the beach is named Gunung Payung Beach because the road access will pass through a Hindu temple called Pura Dhang Kahyangan Gunung Payung.

Location of Gunung Payung Beach

The location of Gunung Payung beach is very close to Padawa beach Bali and in one village area, namely Kutuh village. Although Gunung Payung beach is about 4.5 kilometers east of Pandawa beach, it is scarce for tourists to have heard of it, let alone visit Gunung Payung Beach.

To reach Gunung Payung beach from the vehicle parking area, you need extra effort because visitors will walk and descend hundreds of stairs. I don’t know the number of stairs; it looks like there are around 300 stars.

The Attraction of Gunung Payung Beach

Gunung Payung Beach offers white sand and is very clean and still natural. Because going to the coast of Gunung Payung requires extra effort, making Gunung Payung beach get few visits from tourists. In addition, Gunung Payung Beach is more visited by tourists who like surfing.

Best time to visit, 16:00 - 18:00.
Suitable For, Photo, Budget, Adventure.
Location Map, Gunung Payung Beach Google Map.
