1. Dream Beach – One of the Best Things to Do in Nusa Lembongan for Views

This beach gets a lot of love for its dramatic setting. You’ll find soft white sand, curved cliffs, and constant wave action. It’s more about the views and breeze than swimming.

Most people sit along the edge, watching the ocean roll in. I usually stop by mid-morning for a break and a cold drink. There’s a small warung near the parking area with shade and toilets.

At a Glance – Dream Beach

  • Tip: Sand gets hot, wear sandals
  • Price: Free
  • Best Time: 08:00–10:00 (cooler, softer light, fewer crowds)
  • Location: Southwest Lembongan
  • Difficulty: Easy (flat walk)
  • Duration: 30–60 minutes
  • Guide: Not needed

2. Mushroom Bay – Calm, Shallow Waters for Easy Beach Time

Looking for an easy beach day? Mushroom Bay stays calm all day and has a gentle, shallow shoreline perfect for floating or letting little ones play safely.

There are cafes and shops lining the beach, and if you’re up for it, you can rent a kayak or paddleboard right there. I recommend coming early; it’s much quieter before the tour boats show up.

At a Glance: Mushroom Bay

  • Tip: Early mornings are best with fewer crowds, calmer waves, and better photo light
  • Entry Fee: Free (gear rental costs extra)
  • Best Time to Visit: 08:00–11:00
  • Where It Is: West coast of Nusa Lembongan, near Jungutbatu
  • Access Level: Easy walk from the main road
  • How Long to Stay: 1–2 hours is plenty
  • Guide Needed? No, you can go on your own

3. Sandy Bay – Breezy Spot to Sit and Relax

Sandy Bay is the kind of place you visit when you don’t want to do much, unwind, and take it slow. Tucked beneath rocky cliffs, this little beach stays breezy and shaded. It’s not really for swimming, but it’s great if you want to stretch out, sip something cold, or sit by the sea.

There’s a beach club steps away if you want to relax with snacks or cocktails. I prefer coming in the late afternoon when the light softens and the area feels quieter.

At a Glance – Sandy Bay

  • Tip: Come in the late afternoon for softer light and fewer people
  • Price: Free
  • Best Time to Visit: Afternoon to sunset
  • Location: South Lembongan.
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Duration: 30–60 minutes
  • Guide: Not needed

4. Sunset Point – Quiet Cliffs, Big Views, Bar Nearby

Just west of Devil’s Tear, Sunset Point is a rocky lookout with uninterrupted ocean views and crashing waves below. It’s not a beach, and there’s less crowd, just raw cliffs, sea spray, and some of the best light on the island as the sun dips low.

It’s one of those spots you stumble on and don’t forget volcano views to the right, sunset dead ahead, and a laid-back vibe.

For something extra, there’s a small cliffside bar nearby called The Point. There are no shops right at the viewpoint, so bring water if you’re not stopping at the bar.

At a Glance – Sunset Point

  • Tip: Arrive 30–45 minutes before sunset for softer light and quieter vibes
  • Price: Free access (bar nearby is optional)
  • Best Time: 17:30–18:30
  • Location: Just west of Devil’s Tear
  • Difficulty: Easy walk
  • Duration: 30–45 minutes
  • Guide: Not needed

5. Drop-In Yoga by the Beach – Easy Way to Reset

Need a break? Join a beachside yoga class in Nusa Lembongan, no booking needed. Most studios run daily sessions at 8 AM and 5 PM. It’s a gentle way to stretch, breathe, and slow down between swims or hikes.

6. Top Snorkeling Spots Near Lembongan

If you’re coming to Lembongan for the ocean, snorkeling’s the easiest way to get in. The reefs are close, boat rides are short, and there’s something to see even if it’s your first time in the water.

Depending on where you go, you might float over coral gardens, spot turtles, or even swim with manta rays. Most people join a short guided trip. It’s the easiest way to get started. Or if you want to take it slow, join a relaxed day cruise like the Lembongan Reef Cruise.

Mangrove Point – Calm & Colorful

  • Best for beginners with clear, shallow water
  • See: soft corals, parrotfish, reef life
  • Go at low tide, early morning, for best visibility
  • Price: ~IDR 150K–250K | Duration: 1–2 hours
  • Guide: Optional | Location: Northeast Lembongan

Manta Bay – Swim with Giants

While located off the coast of Nusa Penida, Manta Bay is one of the most popular snorkeling stops on tours departing from Lembongan. It offers your best chance to swim near giant manta rays in the wild, especially during dry season mornings.

  • Best chance to see manta rays: May to October
  • Price: ~IDR 300K–500K | Duration: 2–3 hours
  • Guide: Required (moderate difficulty, open water)
  • Tip: Ask tour operators if rays were spotted recently before booking

Crystal Bay – Turquoise Depths & Turtles

Crystal Bay lies on the northwest coast of Nusa Penida, but it’s often included in Lembongan-based snorkeling tours. The water is clear and deep with coral drop-offs, and there’s a good chance of spotting turtles.

Visibility is best mid-morning, but currents can be intense; this spot is better suited for intermediate swimmers.

  • Price: ~IDR 250K–400K | Duration: 1–2 hours
  • Level: Intermediate | Location: West Nusa Penida

7. Mangroves & Paddleboarding – Calm Water Exploration

Glide through still waters by kayak or paddleboard in Lembongan’s northeast mangrove area. It’s a peaceful, beginner-friendly activity perfect for families, couples, or anyone craving a quiet moment in nature. Expect birdlife, gentle breezes, and shady mangrove tunnels.

8. Beginner-Friendly Surf Spots in Lembongan

Lembongan is one of the easiest places to try surfing for the first time. The water’s warm, the locals are laid-back, and the beginner breaks are just a short paddle from shore.

Start at the Playgrounds near Jungutbatu, it’s mellow and close to the beach. If you’ve surfed before, check out Shipwrecks, Lacerations, or Razors for faster reef breaks. For tips and wave forecasts, check this guide to beginner surf spots in Lembongan.

  • Tip: Use reef booties and check the tide forecast
  • Price: ~IDR 150K–300K for board rental / ~IDR 400K+ for a beginner lesson
  • Best Time to Surf: Early morning, when the tide is mid to high
  • Location: Jungutbatu coastline, near the Playgrounds break and surrounding reefs
  • Difficulty: Beginner to intermediate

9. Devil’s Tear – Dramatic Blowhole & Cliffside Waves

Devil’s Tear, on the southwest side of Lembongan near Dream Beach, is one of the island’s most iconic sights. When the tide is high, huge waves slam into the cliffs, shooting water and mist into the air, sometimes with rainbows catching the light, especially near sunset.

There’s a small cash-only entry fee of IDR 25,000 per person, which gives you access to restrooms and lets you come back later the same day.

Safety Tip: The rocks can get slippery, and waves are unpredictable. Wear sturdy footwear and stay well back from the edge, even in calm weather. Nusa Lembongan tide charts or local guides can help you time your visit safely.

At a Glance – Devil’s Tear

  • Tip: Visit at high tide for the best blowhole effect; sunset adds golden light and occasional rainbows
  • Price: IDR 25,000 (cash only)
  • Best Time: High tide, especially near sunset
  • Location: Southwest coast, near Dream Beach
  • Difficulty: Easy – short walk on rocky terrain
  • Duration: 30–60 minutes
  • Guide: Not required, but helpful if unsure about tide timing

10. Coastal Walks – Cliff Trails with Quiet Views

Want something more relaxed than cliff jumping? Walk the scenic coastal path linking Dream Beach, Sandy Bay, and other quieter viewpoints. You’ll pass tide pools, rock shelves, and hidden photo spots minus the crowds.

Early morning is the best time for this walk: cooler, quieter, and great for sunrise light. For something more hidden, take the trail west of Sunset Beach or hike up from Lembongan Village for a more secluded ocean view.

At a Glance – Cliffside Nature Walks

  • Tip: Wear shoes with grip if it’s just rained
  • Price: Free
  • Best Time: Morning or late afternoon
  • Location: Southwest cliffs, Dream Beach to Sandy Bay
  • Difficulty: Easy–Moderate
  • Duration: ~1 hour
  • Guide: Not needed

11. Pura Puncak Sari – Quiet Temple Above the Village

Need a short break from the beach? Head uphill to Pura Puncak Sari, a peaceful cliffside temple overlooking Lembongan Village. You’ll find old stone gates, simple carvings, and expansive breezy views from the top.

It’s usually quiet. Most people miss it so that you might have it all to yourself. Perfect for a slow morning or golden-hour walk. Please remember to dress modestly and show respect.

At a Glance – Pura Puncak Sari

  • Tip: Bring a sarong and sash, or ask a local, many are happy to lend one
  • Price: Donation-based
  • Best Time: Early morning or late afternoon
  • Location: Hill above Lembongan Village
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Duration: ~30 minutes
  • Guide: Recommended

12. Panorama Point – Sunrise Over Mount Agung

If you’re up early, walk or ride to Panorama Point, a quiet hilltop between Jungutbatu and the Yellow Bridge. On clear mornings, Mount Agung rises in the distance huge, still, and glowing with the first light.

Before 7 AM, it’s usually still. You might hear a scooter or two, maybe catch a bit of mist floating over the bay. It’s a short climb with a big reward and a peaceful way to start the day.

At a Glance – Panorama Point

  • Tip: Bring a light jacket, mornings can be breezy
  • Price: Free
  • Best Time: 06:00–08:00
  • Location: Between Jungutbatu & Ceningan junction
  • Difficulty: Easy–Moderate (short hill)
  • Duration: 30–45 minutes
  • Guide: Not needed

Heading to Lembongan soon? Here’s the best way to get there from Bali, including boat options, prices, and travel tips.

Optional Side Trip: Nusa Ceningan Attractions

If you’re staying longer or planning to cross the Yellow Bridge, here are a few scenic experiences on Nusa Ceningan, the smaller island connected to Lembongan. These aren’t part of Lembongan proper, but can be great bonus stops if you have extra time.

Mahana Point – Cliff Jump into the Sea

Feeling brave? Head to Mahana Point on Nusa Ceningan, where you’ll find two cliffside platforms above the ocean: one at 5 meters and another at 10 meters. A small cafe makes it a great place to watch the action or relax after your jump.

Cliff jumping is only allowed during high tide, when the water is deep enough for safe landings. On-site staff monitor sea conditions. Always check with them before jumping.

Jump Fees

  • IDR 25K for the 5-meter jump
  • IDR 50K for the 10-meter jump

At a Glance – Mahana Point

  • Tip: Only jump during high tide. Confirm with the staff before going
  • Price: IDR 25K (5?m) / IDR 50K (10?m)
  • Best Time: Late morning to afternoon, high tide
  • Location: West Nusa Ceningan, near Blue Lagoon
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Duration: 30–60 minutes
  • Guide: Recommended for first-timers

Blue Lagoon Viewpoint – Quiet Clifftop Spot

Just a few minutes from Mahana Point, Blue Lagoon is one of my favorite places to pause. You’ll get bold cliff views, clear blue water, and wide-angle photo ops without much foot traffic.

There’s no guardrail, so take extra care, especially around sunrise or sunset when visibility and footing can be tricky.

At a Glance – Blue Lagoon Viewpoint

  • Tip: Mornings and late afternoons offer the best light, and it’s usually quieter then, too.
  • Price: Free
  • Best Time: Early morning or just before sunset
  • Location: Western tip of Nusa Ceningan
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Duration: 20–30 minutes
  • Guide: Not necessary

Yellow Bridge – Peaceful Morning Walk with a View

This narrow, bright-yellow bridge links Lembongan and Ceningan and offers one of the island’s most photogenic early-morning scenes. Locals ride scooters across it daily, but it’s exceptionally peaceful just after sunrise, when the tide is low and the water glows.

Known by some as “Jembatan Cinta” (Love Bridge) for its romantic setting.

At a Glance – Yellow Bridge

  • Tip: Come before 8?AM to avoid scooter traffic
  • Price: Free
  • Best Time: 06:30–08:00

Many of the best experiences in Lembongan can be enjoyed without a guide and are suitable for a short trip of 1 to 2 days.

Visit Mushroom Bay or Dream Beach in the morning. You will find calm water and fewer crowds. Plan your snorkeling or paddleboarding early in the day, when visibility is best. For cliff views and golden light, time your visit to Devil’s Tear or Sunset Beach just before sundown.
